Renée Sorrentino, MD, is a forensic psychiatrist with expertise in the evaluation of individuals with sexual offenses and criminal behaviors. She has over 15 years of experience working with individuals with criminal behaviors including firesetting. Dr. Sorrentino is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and provides training to psychiatry residents at Massachusetts General Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and her psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. She completed a forensic fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. She is licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Virginia, and California.

Dr. Sorrentino has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters on the topics of violence, forensic assessment, and sexual offenders. She speaks nationally and internationally on these topics.

Brooke Berard, Psy.D. is a forensically-trained licensed psychologist with experience and focus on the prevention of sexual violence. Dr. Berard is currently the Director of Behavior Health at the Maine Correctional Center and Southern Maine Women’s Reentry Center in the Maine Department of Correction and also provides ongoing consultation to Wellpath and the Massachusetts Department of Correction for the Sex Offender Treatment services. For 15 years, Berard was the Director of Sex Offender Program Services and Director of Assessment and Treatment at the MA Department of Correction Treatment Center, a correctional facility housing Sexually Dangerous Persons and other sexual offenders in Bridgewater, MA. In this capacity, Dr. Berard was responsible for overseeing risk assessments, treatment planning, staff training and supervision, and program development. Additionally, Dr. Berard has presented extensively on sexual violence to a variety of audiences including law enforcement, clinicians, and communities. Dr. Berard previously held the position of Psychology Director while training under Dr. Sorrentino at the Institute for Sexual Wellness for three years. She earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. She completed her pre-doctoral APA internship while being trained by Dr. Papapietro at the Whiting Forensic Unit at Connecticut Valley Hospital and Capitol Region Mental Health Center in Connecticut and completed a postdoctoral fellowship through Forensic Health Services and University of Massachusetts–Boston. Dr. Berard is a clinical member of Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). In addition to forensic settings, her clinical experience includes working in residential treatment facilities, outpatient community mental health centers, and doing mobile crisis/disaster relief work. Her work more recently includes comprehensive firesetting evaluations and prevention services.

Adam Brown is a licensed clinical social worker and assistant professor at Silberman School for Social Work at Hunter College, CUNY. Dr. Brown’s work centers on the assessment and treatment of young people who have harmed themselves and/or others. His research has been published in a variety of peer reviewed journals, including Victims and Offenders, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and Sexual Abuse,and has been reported on by a multiple media outlets, including the Associated Press and the Shanghai Media Group. He is currently funded to study the role of masculine identity in the commission of sexual harm among adolescent males in residential treatment. In addition to his scholarship, Dr. Brown is a clinician on staff at the Institute for Sexual Wellness in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and an expert witness for Park Dietz and Associates in Newport Beach, California.

Kaitlyn Peretti, PsyD. is a forensic psychologist who specializes in evaluation and treatment of adults who are involved in the criminal justice system. She has extensive experience providing treatment and evaluations for adults who engage in problematic behaviors related to violence, firesetting, and/or sex. Her experience also includes program development, implementation, and evaluation; consultation; training for multiple disciplines within the criminal justice system; and clinical supervision and training. Dr. Peretti is a faculty member at William James College. She earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Peretti is licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
